ATLANTA SPORTS MEDICINE AND CARTILAGE RECONSTRUCTION FELLOWSHIP Atlanta Sports Medicine Foundation, Inc. is offering a one year fellowship under the immediate supervision of Scott D. Gillogly, M.D. The Fellow will achieve comprehensive experience in sports medicine, including advanced arthroscopic and reconstructive surgical techniques. The practice is internationally recognized as a center of excellence for the treatment of cartilage injuries. Fellows will become proficient with cartilage restoration techniques including autologous chondrocyte implantation, osteochondral autograft and allograft transplantation and meniscus transplantation. Atlanta Sports Medicine fellows will also benefit from an extensive shoulder operative experience including arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, arthroscopic Bankart and SLAP repair in overhead athletes. The fellowship will also offer weekly bi-weekly conferences on selected sports medicine topics with presentations from the fellows and faculty. In addition, special guest faculty will be invited to present during the fellowship year. Clinical research opportunities will be performed using surgical and other pertinent data from sports-related cartilage injuries. Fellows are expected to present two (2) research papers at national sports medicine meetings during their tenure. Fellows will also assist in the coverage of professional hockey, professional football, collegiate football as well as high school athletic teams. Fellows will also be expected to attend two (2) national sports medicine meetings during their tenure. The fellowship is ACGME Accredited. The fellowship participates in the SF Match Program.
